I will continue to work diligently on Dr Baker's behalf so it shows that he received 5 stars. I will contact other Linfield grads to request they give him recognition. Last I heard Chris was with the Centers for Disease Control Shantika was a social worker for DHS and now a Licensed Social Worker Crystal was a social worker for Lifeworks Aubrey, Anissa, Odette, the friend from Persia, and several others.

This is my 2nd time on the rating system. I don't understand why Dr Baker didn't get all 5 stars. There is something wrong with the Uloop system. Why is 'useless' an option? I also heard that he didn't get tenured. Why not? There were several of us students who sent in letters - on his behalf - to the main campus, and they didn't take us seriously. What does it take to get Dr Baker recognized? If it wasn't for Dr Baker, I would probably still be in my sister's shadows. He taught me to be proud of who I am. I am a graduate of Dr Baker's Class of 2003. I want him to have recognition for the work he did overseas and the work that he paved the way for. I want him to have a legacy that his daughter, his family and friends can look upon with inspiration. There is much to be done - people helping people and us learning from each other.

Dr Baker would call me his graduate. He would say "There you are, there's my graduate" as I was quickly heading back inside the building. I was taught to stay in the shadows of my sister Ann. To get any kind of acknowledgement that I could succeed -on my own- always came from him. I can still hear his voice, "Do not set yourself up for failure." He wanted us to work hard and to help people along the way. He taught me not to be afraid of peoples' titles, to be confident, and to be a professional. My favorite story he told is how he managed to pass "an item" from Thailand to the US. WOW. He was BRILLIANT. When I had a phone interview for said position, and I spoke with a Director, he chuckled saying "You're not scared of me?" I said "No, I am not scared of you. I was taught by the Director of the Health Sciences Program." The only voicemail that I should have saved of him saying that I was a screw up- I told Chris at Babies R US, he was training to be a store manager. I'm a lot like the mother I grew up with, very dramatic. I was crying, and he said people in dire circumstances will look good on the outside and not feel as great on the inside, and that's OK. He said something along the lines of you still have to keep going, learning and moving forward. I went to the main campus for a semester then returned to the Portland campus. The students at the MAC campus shared innovative ways to "pick their brain" as 1 student had put it as we were sitting on the bench. She was wearing military fatigue. Rating System ****Helpfulness - please note that Dr Baker was a 3. He wanted me to figure things out on my own and be independent. ****Clarity - please note that Dr Baker was a 5. He was transparent and honest about his opinions. I liked that he treated me like everyone else, as someone able and capable.
